I am a licensed clinical social worker in Michigan with over 20 years of career experience in gerontology, with a focus on supporting individuals and families living with dementia. I graduated from the University of Michigan School of Social Work with a master’s degree and Specialist in Aging Certificate in 1999.  I am grateful for the invaluable knowledge and experience I have gained while working with older adults and caregivers through various practice settings, including medical and research clinics, residential care communities and community organizations, such as the Alzheimer's Association. I am passionate about helping clients understand and cope with aging issues associated with stress, grief and loss, anxiety, and depression. Living with change and uncertainty related to health/abilities, life transitions, such as retirement or a move to residential care, and caregiving can be difficult and hard to navigate.  Through compassionate listening, I can help guide you through self-exploration and self-understanding to help manage life stressors and move toward what is most important to you.

I incorporate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and self-compassion into my therapeutic approach to create a space for healing and to help clients engage in a meaningful life through values-based experiences. Building and nurturing inner strengths and resources within a support network can help you along the way. Taking mindful steps toward understanding and learning how to effectively relate to your thoughts and feelings takes courage. Thank you for getting started!

I look forward to connecting with you and working together on a plan that supports your meaningful direction.
